Management Accountant

A highly successful London law firm is seeking to hire a Management Accountant. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to apply their skills in a dynamic legal environment, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the firm’s financial success. The successful candidate will report into the Financial Controller and will be joining a highly supportive and welcoming team in London, which is led by the Finance Director.

  • Salary to £65,000 per annum
  • Office hours, Monday-Friday, 09:30-17:30
  • Hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:

  • Work closely with the senior members of the team and build relationships with internal clients and external suppliers
  • Support the financial management of the firm by preparing, analysing, and reporting on management accounting information
  • Provide accurate financial insights to assist the Financial Controller and Finance Director in strategic decision-making
  • Calculation of provisions monthly in relation to WIP and debt and other balance sheet reconciliation
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, budgets, and cash flow reports
  • Regular/ad hoc review of firm’s P&L and general ledger to ensure accurate and timely reporting of costs and tax treatments

Skills & Requirements of the Management Accountant:

  • Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Extensive awareness of legal finance in a law firm including a strong working knowledge of SARs and AML
  • Experience of 3E is desirable
